November 3 Message from B´ÎÔª

B´ÎÔª seal

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

As the College continues to address the COVID-19 situation and provide for our community's health and safety, we have decided to cancel spring break (Monday, March 22, 2021, through Sunday, March 28, 2021).  This measure will limit travel to and from different geographic regions, which will help reduce the risk of viral transmission and ensure students do not lose out on academic instruction.  Though we realize the importance of a traditional spring break as a time for relaxation or to get essential work completed, we are choosing to prioritize our community's health and safety.

The start and end date of the terms remain unchanged and the number of class days for students in most instances will remain the same and the extra days can be used as needed. If class meeting days are missed for any reason before the end of the term, extra days for your term will be utilized to make-up for that lost class time. If no class meeting days are lost during the term extra days may be utilized as a day that classes do not meet. Residential Halls will remain open and student meal plans will be active throughout the entire length of the term. To view the revised spring academic calendar please click here.  Additional information about the spring term will be shared in the upcoming weeks.  Please note that these changes do not impact normal staff schedules.

This change in the academic calendar is based on recommendations from the Office of the Provost and the Division of Student Affairs and allows us to reduce the risk of a COVID outbreak while remaining open to allow students to safely continue their education both in-person and online.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we continue to navigate the uncertainty of the pandemic. Please know that opens TOMORROW.

Sincerely,

Jose Herrera
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

and

Kevin Joyce
Vice President, Student Affairs
