B´ÎÔª Transfer Student Resilience Story Profiled on Bronx News Site
Jolayne Gayle ’20, a B´ÎÔª transfer student, was featured in an article published by thisistheBronX.info, a web portal designed for residents of the Bronx and anyone interested in learning more about the borough.
After transferring in the fall of 2016, Gayle is happy to have found a home at B´ÎÔª. The article describes how she feels comfortable in Mercy’s diverse, student-focused environment.
The College is a great fit culturally and the opportunities for professional development align with her expectations for an undergraduate experience. For example, she interned with City Councilmember Andy King, which ignited her passion in politics and legislation. With a continued desire to strengthen her skills in the political field, she then obtained a summer fellowship position under New York State Senator Alessandra Biaggi.
After graduating from B´ÎÔª, Gayle plans to attend law school at Howard University and pursue her goal of working in the public interest sector, specifically by representing those with limited access to legal resources.
